Walsall Children's Trust
Walsall’s Children’s Trust has been in place since 2004 and is committed to;
1. Putting children and young people at the heart of all we do
2. Focussing on improving outcomes – rather than structures and processes

5. Increasing integration of our planning, budgeting and service delivery
Summary of progress on Children’s Trust
The Children and Young Peoples Executive Group held a workshop in late 2009 and agreed on the next phase of development of the Trust; focusing on setting up a Children’s Trust Board of key strategic leaders with delegated groups beneath it who will manage 4 key work streams:
1. Commissioning
2. Planning and Performance
3. Workforce
4. Engagement
The 16 Children’s Area Partnerships will underpin all the work streams and ensure a locality focus. Commissioning Leads across the council and NHS Walsall have worked closely together and building on our existing Joint Commissioning arrangements will establish a Children’s Joint Commissioning Unit during 2010.
